About me
My name is Espen Kofstad, and golf has been a central part of my life since childhood.
My golf journey began when I earned my first handicap at Strömstad Golf Club at the age of six. Summers were spent in Strömstad with my family, where golf quickly became a passion.

In 2005 I won the A-Tour Order of Merit in Norway. That opened the door to college golf at the University of Denver in the United States, where I spent four formative years of development. Highlights included earning NCAA Honorable Mention All-America honors and a place inside the world’s top 20 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking. In the fall of 2010, I turned professional.

In my very first attempt at Qualifying School, I secured full rights on the Challenge Tour for the 2011 season. The following year, I won the Challenge Tour Order of Merit after two victories and five top-10 finishes, which earned me promotion to the European Tour (now DP World Tour) in 2013.

My career was interrupted several times by injuries — in 2014–2015, 2017–2018, and again in 2023 — but I always fought my way back. In 2016, I became the first Norwegian golfer in 110 years to compete in the Olympics, representing Norway at the Rio Games. I also represented Norway in the 2013 World Cup of Golf.

After 14 years as a professional on the DP World Tour and Challenge Tour — with four victories, two Norwegian Championship titles, and experience from some of the biggest stages in golf — I retired from professional play in 2024.
Today, I work as a golf expert commentator for Viaplay and co-host the Viaplay Golf Pod podcast together with Joakim Mikkelsen.
